Professional Council

 

General condition

The Professional Council of the UG Architecture Student Biennial is established to oversee and manage all aspects related to the Biennial and its organization.

The composition of the Professional Council is approved by the organizer of the UG Architecture Student Biennial, namely the School of Arts and Humanities and the Department of Architecture and Design at the University of Georgia.

The Professional Council operates in accordance with the current circumstances, adhering to the guidelines and conditions set forth by the UG Architecture Student Biennial, as well as the criteria for accepting projects for consideration in the competition.

The Professional Council is empowered to establish student working groups, the duration of which will be determined by the achievement of their specified objectives, aimed at addressing any issues arising in the preparation and execution of the international competition. The number of student working groups is not limited.

The composition of the student working group is determined by the Biennial organizer.

The work schedules of the organizer, Professional Council, and student working group are subject to the prevailing circumstances.

Organization of Activities for the Organizer, Professional Council, and Student Working Group:

Working meetings are convened as needed, with a minimum frequency of once a month. During these meetings, issues are addressed in accordance with the work plan endorsed by the founders of the Biennial.

The working group meetings focus on resolving organizational, technical, financial, and creative matters, as well as discussing proposals for the execution of the Biennial and public initiatives.

The work plan of the working group is ratified by both the organizer and the professional council.

Decisions made during working meetings are determined by a majority vote among the members.

Functions of the Professional Council

The functions of the professional council include:

 

  1. Oversight and coordination of the UG Architecture Student Biennial.
  2. Determination of the UG Architecture Student Biennial's organization (including stages and participant evaluation methods).
  3. Establishment of the jury composition method.
  4. Publication regarding the UG Architecture Student Biennial.
  5. Implementation of events outlined in the Biennial information campaign according to the approved plan.
  6. Coordination of the Biennial's information campaign and collaboration with sponsors.
  7. Monitoring applications from prospective participants in the UG Architecture Student Biennial, ensuring compliance with competition requirements, and overseeing jury operations.
  8. Recording results determined by the professional jury.
  9. Organization of the awards ceremony for winners and nominees of the international competition.

 

Rights of the Professional Council

The professional council is empowered to:

-         Verify the accuracy of the information provided by participants.

-         Disqualify participants found to be in breach of the established rules, requirements, and conditions of the UG Architecture Student Biennial.

 

The professional council is obligated to:

-         Establish equal conditions for all Biennial participants.

-         Facilitate public relations efforts for the Biennial.

-         Maintain the confidentiality of data received from participants.

-         Refrain from publishing competition results until the official Biennial award ceremony.

 

Responsibilities of the Biennial Organizer:

The organizer assumes responsibility if:

 

-         They violate any procedure outlined in the preparation and execution of the UG Architecture Student Biennial as specified in the project implementation program.

-         They deviate from the UG Architecture Student Biennial schedule without prior notification to participants (at least 15 days in advance).

The Biennial organizer is not held responsible if:

-         An application is incomplete or unclearly filled out.

-         Event deadlines are breached due to specific circumstances beyond their control.
